Claudia Lynn Morgan

A Memorial Service will be held for family and friends celebrating the lives of Claudia, Bill, and Lettie Morgan on July 1, 2017, at 3:30 p.m., at The Big Thicket House on White Rock Lake, 430 East Lawther Drive, Dallas, Texas 75218.

Claudia Lynn Morgan was born August 14, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. She died in a Lufkin hospital following a lengthy illness on April 20, 2017.

Claudia lived most of her life in Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Skyline High School. She loved working with the elderly, and worked as an in-home caretaker for many years in Dallas. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed making personal gifts. She moved to Lufkin, Texas several years ago to assist caring for her parents. When her own illness necessitated treatment in a nursing home, she became active in visiting other residents and was involved in numerous social and rehab activities. While she was able, she made a point of visiting residents who could not leave their rooms.

Claudia was a loving daughter, sister and aunt.

She is preceded in death by her infant daughter; her parents, Dr. Bill and Lettie Morgan; brother, Casey Morgan of Marshall, Texas; uncles, Marion Morgan and Jack Hazel and his wife Eloise, all of Marshall, Texas; and grandparents, Albert and Hattie Hazel of Shreveport, Louisiana and Howeth and Effie Morgan of Marshall, Texas.

She is survived by her sister, Juanda Morgan of Lufkin, Texas; her brother, Kelly Morgan of Houston, Texas and his wife, Marla; nieces, Lacey Ferguson of Dallas, Krista Mendez of Lufkin, and Meghan Sutton of Lufkin; great-nephews, Landon Morgan, Max and Milo Mendez; great-niece, Ava Mendez; uncle, Reverend Glenn Morgan and his wife Dot of Tennessee and their daughters, Susan, Joy, and Glenda; and cousins, Ronnie and David Hazel of Longview, Texas.

Charitable donations may be made in her memory to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
