Dorothy J. "Stuckey" Pittmon

Funeral services for Dorothy J. “Stuckey” Pittmon, 68, of Lufkin will be held Monday, June 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rick Martin and Dr. Edward Sharrer officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mrs. Pittmon was born January 5, 1949 in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Margie (White) and Eugene Stuckey, and died Friday, June 23, 2017 in Lufkin. Mrs. Pittmon had resided in Lufkin for over 30 years and worked at Lufkin Independent School District for five years as a cafeteria worker and a substitute teacher. She was a very unique lady who loved motorcycles and travelling. She enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting and knitting, cooking and baking, and music. Her grandchildren called her “Rock & Roll Granny”. She dearly loved spending time with family and her grandchildren. Mrs. Pittmon also loved her two dogs. She delighted in pleasing others and will be dearly missed by many. Survivors include her husband, Hubert Pittmon of Lufkin; children, Ray D. George and wife Debbie of Hudson, Tammy B. Couvillion and husband Joe of Alexandria, Louisiana, Artis W. George and wife Dianne of Lufkin, Jelina R. Mann and husband Bart of Iowa, Louisiana, Felicia R. January and husband Kevin of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jannie G. Crochet and husband Milton, Jr. of Jennings, Louisiana; stepdaughters, Christina Dixon and husband Greg and Norma Lusk and husband Wayne, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brandi, Matthew, David, Michael, Steven, Kaddie, Alicia, Amber, Gus, Ashley, Ashlyn, Shelby, Casey, Matthew, Brittany, John II, Josh and wife Holly; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty S. Neal of Mora, Louisiana, Melba S. Phillips of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Charlotte Rogers and husband Rickey of Ragley, Louisiana; brothers, Charles Stuckey and wife Ginger and Dewey Coffman and wife Susan, all of Simpson, Louisiana; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; two dogs, Sassy and Coby; two granddogs, Tinkerbell and Spanky. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Ellen Stuckey Wise, Haroldleane Stuckey, Martha Ann Stuckey, Bertha Rae Hickey, James Stuckey, and Merrill Coffman. Pallbearers will be Steven, Gus, Matthew, David, Adian, John and Curtis. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
