Darlene Harrison Knight

Funeral services for Darlene Harrison Knight, 78, of Huntington, will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 12 noon in the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, 2012 FM 1270, Zavalla, with her son, George Cryer, Jr. officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Darlene was born March 7, 1939 in Huntington, Texas, the daughter of Gracie Lee (Bass) and James Curtis Harrison. She died Sunday, June 11, 2017 in a Huntington nursing facility.

Heaven gained a special person with Darlene’s passing. She will always be remembered for how adventurous she was, how much she loved to walk, how she lived to travel, and how much she loved the Lord. She is now on the best trip of her life and taking the best walk ever on the streets of gold.

Darlene was a homemaker and a home health aide. More importantly, she was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister. A resident of Huntington most of her life, she had also lived in Corrigan for 10 years. Darlene was a member of The Church of God-PKG.
Survivors include her children, George, Jr. and Sheila Cryer of Zavalla, Janel and Kevin Kincannon of Conroe, and Steve Knight of Livingston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie Radcliff and Lloyd Beam of New Braunfels, Sandra and Victor Cryer of New Waverly; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Harrison of Hemphill; grandchildren, Shelby Cryer, Jacob Lovett, Joey Lovett, and Jessica Lovett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Imogene Knoy and Bonnie Medlin; brothers, Cecil Slocum, James Perry Harrison, and Jackie Ray Harrison; grandson, Allen Cryer; and special nephew, Darby Cryer.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church prior to the service.
