Robert "Bobby" Luckett Marye, Sr., 74, of Lufkin, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in a Lufkin hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Marye was born February 7, 1943 in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Marian (Ginther) and Nolan Marye. He had resided in Lufkin for the past 27 years and was a business owner. He had owned the Hole In One Café for the past 20 years, and Comet Cleaners for 14 years. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Houston.
Mr. Marye will be remembered for his fabulous sense of humor and his honesty, kindness, and his sincere caring for others. He loved all of his friends and family dearly. Mr. Marye was a mentor to many and was devoted to his loved ones. He had a remarkable work ethic and wisdom comparable to none other. He loved to hunt, fish, and collect cars; and he truly enjoyed boating and being on the lake.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Sandra K. Marye of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. “Lucky” Marye, Jr. and Rachel Marye of Lufkin; grandsons, Robert L. “Trace” Marye, III., and Andrew Liam Marye, both of Lufkin; sisters, Fran Fauntleroy and Ginny Sharman, both of Houston; brother, Nolan Marye, Jr. of Houston; brother-in-law, Ed Hendry of New Braunfels; sister-in-law, Sue Womack of Lake Conroe; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members in the Houston and Austin areas; as well as other extended family members to include wonderful friends and his employees.
