Georgia Evelyn Wilson

Funeral services for Georgia Evelyn (Oldham) Wilson, 74, of Huntington will be held Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells. Mrs. Wilson was born April 21, 1943 in Corrigan, Texas to the late Mable (Roberts) Holland and George Edward Oldham, and died Thursday, June 8, 2017 in a local hospital. Mrs. Wilson had resided in the Lufkin area most of her life. She was an Occupational Health Nurse/LVN and worked for Champion Paper in Corrigan for more than 25 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, and volunteering. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1836 and the Eastern Star Homer Lodge #254. She was also a member of Dunn Chapel Church of Christ. Survivors include her father, Luther Holland of Temple; sons, Patrick Delasandro and wife Vera of Ashgrove, Missouri, Joseph Delasandro of Tyler, Jeffrey Mark Delasandro and wife Rhonda of Searcy, Arkansas, Timothy Delasandro and wife Stefanie of Bryan, and Ronnie Wilson, Sr. and wife Linda of Blanco; daughter, Kelly Lawson and husband Larry of Corrigan; grandchildren, Holly Delasandro, Mark David Delasandro, Daniel Delasandro, SSGT Kayla Murray, Crystal Moore, Jeffrey Stewart, Sheldon Stewart, Aaron Delasandro, James Delasandro, Alex Delasandro, Kylie Delasandro, Jade Wilson, Lane Whitehead, Mars Jones, Amber Russell, Michaelyn Wright, Shianne Russell, SSGT James Russell, Elizabeth Burns, Tre Lawson, and Emilee Lawson; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, “Lil” Dan, McKenna, Jeremy, Seth, and Nadine; sister, Edwanna Eckenrode of Wells; brothers, Edward Oldham and wife Karen of Apple Springs and Joe Edd Oldham and wife Sue of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Roberts Holland; husbands, Patrick Delasandro and George Wilson; grandsons, Joshua Rockwell, Tommy Hawkins, and George Wilson Wallace; siblings, Edward Earl Oldham and Bobbie Oldham; and aunt, Lorraine Chandler “Aunt Deedee”. Pallbearers will be Chad Holland, Tracy Roberts, Aaron Delasandro, James Delasandro, Shannon Philpot, Daniel Delasandro, Joseph Roberts, and Nicholas Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Whitehead, Brent Malinowski, and Mark David Delasandro. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
