Visitation for Jo Lorene Hodges Moulton, 79, of Wells, will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moulton was born July 28, 1937 in Wells, Texas to the late Ellie Ann (Grayson) and James William “Jim” Hodges, and died Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Lufkin, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Moulton was a lifetime resident of the Lufkin/Wells areas. She owned and operated the Highway 69 Café for five years. Mrs. Moulton “served” everyone. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed reading, cooking, baking pies and cakes, and canning. She loved sewing, and made clothing for everyone. Mrs. Moulton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wells.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Alex G. Moulton of Wells; sons and daughter-in-law, Monte Gene “Butch” Morgan of Nacogdoches and Michael and Billie Jo Morgan of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah (Morgan) and James Fugate of Onalaska, Pat and Lanny Reeves of Wells, and Nikki and Jose Serrano of Humble; granddaughters, Jennifer Hamilton and Ashley Loftin; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Hodges of Jacksonville, Florida, Maxine and John Munsinger of Fresno, California, and George and Brenda Moulton of Blanchard, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and great-grandsons.
