Memorial Services for Hollis Weldon Harvey, Sr., 62, of Lufkin will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jim Housley and Brother Jim Maddox officiating. Cremation arrangements will be under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Harvey was born March 31, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Nancy Elouise (Murray) and the late Louie Weldon Harvey, and died Monday, May 8, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Harvey had resided in the Lufkin area for most of his life. He was a barber at Harvey’s Barber Shop. He was active in Alcoholics Anonymous as a Sponsor and had dedicated his life to it. Mr. Harvey was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Hollis Harvey, Jr. of Latexo; daughters, Tamera Carol Boyd and husband Jay of Lufkin, Julie Vossler of Seattle, Washington, and April Janelle Harvey and husband Robert Cameron Howell of Lufkin; son, Josh Aaron Vossler of Cycle City, Hawaii; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Nancy Harvey of Lufkin; sister, Cynthia Clary and husband Arnold of Lufkin; brother, John Harvey and wife Kathy of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father; and wife, Rose Harvey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Barney Bryan, Chris Thomas, John Harvey, Shane Harvey, Ray Clary, and Audy Clary.
