Barbara Lynn Speer

Funeral services for Barbara Lynn Purvis Speer, 70, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Wallace officiating and cremation to follow. Mrs. Speer was born October 29, 1946 in Shamrock, Texas to the late Doris (Avery) and Tommy Seals, Jr., and died Friday, April 28, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Speer had resided in Huntington most of her life. She was a retired Hairstylist, after more than 30 years at Ultra Cut, Regis and Final Touch. She enjoyed her work and loved the relationships she developed with all her clients. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. As a devoted mother, she would do anything for her children, who were her pride and joy. She loved all animals and her puppies were most special to her. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, John Speer of Huntington; son, Jimmy Purvis and wife Darla of Arizona; daughter, Kim Altimari of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Paige Hernandez and husband Tony of Diboll; grandsons, Cody Purvis of Diboll and Matthew Altimari of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Kylie Moreno and Karter Hernandez, both of Diboll; siblings, Tommy Dale Seals of Burnett, Aubrey Seals and Carolyn Daffron, both of Abilene, Brenda Elrod and Mike Seals, both of Katy, and Tammy Baker of Sweetwater; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Timothy Blaine Purvis in 2003; son-in-law, Jim Altimari in 2007; brother, Ronnie Seals; and sister, Linda Bys. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
