Robert "Robby" A. Ward

Funeral services for Robert “Robby” A. Ward, 63, of Lufkin will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Johnson and Fr. Francis O’Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Robert was born January 14, 1954 in Orange, Texas to Rose Lee (Marshall) and the late George Robert Ward, and died Thursday, April 27, 2017 in a local hospital. Robert had lived in Lufkin for 61 years. He was a paper maker for 32 years at the Lufkin paper mill. He was a proud papa of his five grandchildren. He truly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and all of his family and was a friend to all. He was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Patrese Ward of Lufkin; daughter, Leslie Pate and husband Brandon of Lufkin; son, Jarrod Ward of Lufkin; daughter, Leah Jones and husband Greg; grandchildren, Callie Pate and fiancee’ Matt Barbe, Carsyn Pate, Kimberly Jones, Libby Jones, and Samuel Jones; mother, Rose Ward; sisters, Theda Moseley and husband Steve, and Sharon Ward; brother, Chris Ward and wife Lendy; mother-in-law, Sara Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father; and his father-in-law, Lee Roy Clark. Pallbearers will be Brandon Pate, Greg Jones, Andrew Ward, Jacob Ward, Jason Carter, and Matt Barbe. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of the Infant Jesus, 1501 Lotus Lane, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 6977 S. Main, Houston, Texas 77030. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
