Jarrod "Heath" Choate

Graveside services under the auspices of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M. for Jarrod “Heath” Choate, 45, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Tom Havard Cemetery with Brother Lesly Wilkinson officiating.

Heath was born June 24, 1971 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Judy Ann (Havard) Barnett and William Glenn Choate, and died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in Huntington.

Heath had resided in the Lufkin and Huntington area all of his life. He served in the United States Army in Somalia. He was a welder and was a member of Pipeline Union #798 for over 20 years. Heath was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M. He was also a Shriner and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Trisha Choate of Lufkin; daughter, Heather Choate of Chester; stepdaughter, Linzi Frazier of Lufkin; brothers, Glenn Choate and wife Connie of George West, Lane Barnett and wife Kim of Sea Brook, and Jeb Barnett of Diboll; sister, Robyn Weyand and husband Russell; grandmother, Mary Lou Havard of Huntington; stepfather, Thomas Barnett; father-in-law, Kenneth Collins of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Karla Cutler; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family members, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, L. T. Havard, and John and Nina Choate; mother-in-law, Sundi Collins; and special friend Nick Modisette.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Hemphill, Josh Bell, Bubba Nevills, Case Forrest, Robert Sullivan, and Cory Modisette.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex Womack, Gerald Griffin, Vance Kirby, Jerry Peek, Randy Garner, Toby Roland, and Pipeliners #798/Welding Friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 6977 S. Main, Houston, Texas 77030.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
