Randy Collins

Funeral services for Randy Collins, 57, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dwayne Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the Hendrick Cemetery in the Bulah Community in Cherokee County. Randy was born August 24, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Nelda Elizabeth (Beasley) and Floyd Collins, and died Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Lufkin. Randy had resided in Lufkin all of his life. He was the Warehouse Manager for HD Supply for 15 years. He always considered his children, Dillon and Nolan, his greatest accomplishments. He loved watching them compete at sports, but reminding them that education comes first. He was an outdoorsman and as a young man he loved to be on the water, skiing and fishing. He also enjoyed visiting with older friends. Randy was a simple, straight-forward man who saw things as black or white with no in between. Right was right, wrong was wrong, and he didn’t mind letting you or anyone else know where he stood. We have prayed for his comfort and peace, believing that he is now racking pool balls, playing shuffleboard, and pitching washers with his friends that he has missed here on earth. He would be the first to tell us not to cry, but rather drink a beer in his honor and remember all of the good times. Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Ann Collins of Lufkin; sons, Dillon Collins and wife Callie, and Nolan Collins, all of Lufkin; brother, Floyd D. Collins and wife Gaila of Lufkin; sister, Sheila Lewis and husband Jackie of Lufkin; nephew, Justin Collins; nieces, Tifanie Parry, Katrina smith, and Stacy Richey; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be John David Kirby, Daniel Whitley, Adam Herrington, Riley Durham, Bill Taylor, and Eddie Earl Bentley. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
