Maurice "Mrs. D.H." Walker

Funeral services for Maurice “Mrs. D.H.” Walker, 94, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eric Peyton officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.       Mrs. Walker was born August 11, 1922 in Waco, Texas to the late Carrie (Barker) and Acey Williams Collins, and died Monday, March 27, 2017 in a local hospice facility.       Mrs. Walker graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Business. She taught High School Business classes until she met and married D.H. Walker. They established their home in Lufkin where they owned D.H. Walker Grocery and D.H. Walker Mobile Home Park. They were also breeders of registered Brahman cattle. She was a member of Lancewood Baptist Church.       Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Delrice and Royce Mangrum of Lufkin; granddaughter, Dena Niosi and fiancé Buddy Weisinger of Lufkin; grandson, Mark Mangrum and wife Jennifer of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Ashley Tullos and husband Cade of Lufkin, Lauren Smith and husband Kendall of Lubbock, Kamron Niosi, Alexis Cordero, Justin Mangrum, Madison Mangrum, and Lauren Loeffler, all of Lufkin; and great-great-grandchildren, Rhilynn and Coulson Tullos, Kayden, Kenly and Karter Smith, Michael and Hunter Niosi.       She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David H. “D.H.” Walker; and her sister, Murdelle Thomas.       Pallbearers will be Justin Mangrum, Kendall Smith, Cade Tullos, Ron Taylor, Keith Mangrum, and Kamron Niosi.       Memorial contributions may be made to Lancewood Baptist Church, P.O.
