Richard Loose

Funeral services for Richard Loose, 81, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Arnold Cemetery at Forest.

Mr. Loose was born May 4, 1935, in Woodworth, North Dakota, the son of Olga (Jensen) and Wilbur Loose. He died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Loose was a retired trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety following 22 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Loose had resided in Lufkin most of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Jeannie Loose of Lufkin; his children and their spouses, Beverly Torbert of Hudson, Cathy and Steve McComb of Lufkin, Karen and James Carl Johnson of Kennard, Mark Loose of Hudson, Shannon Biggs of Lufkin, and Steven and Stephanie Biggs of Lufkin; sisters, Carol Schlager of Tucson, Arizona, Connie Otto of Jamestown, North Dakota, Sally Odenbach of Woodworth, North Dakota, Joyce Klostreich of Federal Way, Washington; brother, Billy Loose of Woodworth, North Dakota; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; special friends, Scott and Midget Sherman; caregiver, Kenneth King; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Loose was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jennifer Tillar, and brothers, Roger and Marvin Loose.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Colvin, Corey Loose, Clay Tillar, Brandon Hebert, Cody Johnson, Sean Legg, and Chance Biggs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Loose’s great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
