Ruby Jo Randall

Funeral services for Ruby Jo Randall, 84, of Huntington will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Pastor Brad Minett officiating.

Mrs. Randall was born April 1, 1932 in Dallas, Texas as the only child to the late Mary Thelma (Lunt) and George Chester Slaton, and died Friday, March 10, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Randall had resided in La Porte before moving to Huntington in 1994. She dropped out of high school but later returned to Pecan Park Seventh-Day Adventist School where she earned her School Diploma. She later became a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and her nursing career included 28 years at Bayshore Hospital in all departments. Her career concluded in private practice with three individual physicians. Mrs. Randall was a member of Lufkin Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her son, Weldon “Cliff” Randall, Jr. and wife Marsha of Lufkin; daughter, Lorleta Brewton of Huntington; grandsons, Cody Randall and fiancee’ Stacey Miller of Burke, and Cory Randall of Lufkin; granddaughter, Layna Clouse and husband Noah of Huntington; great-grandchildren, Chelsie Brewton, Alicia Bordelon, and Riley Clouse, all of Huntington, and Allen Miller of Burke; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and on August 7, 2009 her husband of 61 years, Weldon C. Randall, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Cody Randall, Cory Randall, Cliff Randall, Noah Clouse, Kelley Peters, and Woody Baker.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
