Funeral services for Morgan “Pete” Pitre Flournoy, 81, of Lufkin, formerly of Manning, and a 1958 graduate of Texas A&M University, will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Harris, Reverend John Bingham, and Bill Moreau officiating. Interment will follow in the Manning Cemetery, south of Huntington, with military honors. Mr. Flournoy was born October 10, 1935 in the Manning Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Ruby (Pitre) and Morgan Mitchell Flournoy, and died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at PineCrest in Lufkin. Morgan was a current member of the Air Stream Harbor Travel Group and founding member and past president of the 4 Way Water Corporation. Morgan was a proud Aggie and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Corp of Engineers. Morgan retired from Lufkin Industries in 1997 after 35 years of service. Morgan was raised in the sawmill town of Manning and worked hard all his life. He enjoyed farming and ranching and most of all antiquing. As hard working as he was, his real specialty in life was making and keeping friends. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara Flournoy; daughter, Debbie Flournoy; sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sarah Flournoy and James and Robin Flournoy; grandsons Duke McCall, Mitch McCall, and Jace Flournoy; granddaughters, Lauren, Whitney, and Jenna Flournoy, and Joanna Flournoy; great-grandkids; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Rodney Toups; brothers and sister-in-law, Don and Mab Flournoy, Bob and Genie Flournoy, and Tom Flournoy; and numerous nephews, nieces, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Duke and Heather McCall, Mitch and Whitney McCall, Jace Flournoy, Joanna Flournoy, Lauren Flournoy, Whitney Flournoy, Jenna Flournoy, Ryan McCall, and Hunter McCall.
