Graveside services for Patricia Clements Schoen, 89, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend Doran officiating.
Mrs. Schoen was born October 21, 1927 in Manning, Texas to the late Dr. and Mrs. P. C. Clements, and died peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2017 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mrs. Schoen grew up in Lufkin, where riding horses was one of her passions. She attended Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and the University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Art’s Degree in English. She attended Washington University in St. Louis where she received a Master’s Degree in Merchandising. After graduation Pat worked for Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas. She later taught undergraduate courses in Merchandising at Washington University in St. Louis, where she met her husband, Dr. Sterling Schoen.
From 1970 to 1999 she worked in residential real estate as a realtor/broker for: Ira E. Berry in Clayton, Laura McCarthy Realty, The Henry Company and Edward L. Bakewell. During her real estate career, she also taught a class on residential real estate at the University College of Washington University.
She was a member of Ladue Chapel, the Wednesday Club, the Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the National Society Magna Charta Dames & Barons. Mrs. Schoen’s interest in genealogy occupied much of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Jeffrey and husband Mark of Clayton, Missouri; son, Christopher Schoen and wife Judy of Shreveport, Louisiana; stepson, Richard Schoen of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Christopher Jeffrey and wife Erin of Lewisville, Scott Jeffrey of Chicago, Illinois, and Brenna Schoen of Shreveport, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Dr. Sterling H. Schoen; stepson, Sterling H. Schoen, Jr.; and sister, Frances Bickford Clements Lapp.
