Kresta Lea Thompson Hollers

Celebration services for the life of Kresta Lea Thompson Hollers, 44, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dwayne Greenwood and Brother Dave Sarver officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.

Kresta was born November 3, 1972 in Lufkin, Texas, and went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, February 25, 2017 in a local hospital. Those who know her would say that no matter how many hardships she faced she always had a beautiful smile on her face, overwhelming love for others, and the strongest faith in God. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and worked at the Burke Center in Lufkin, where she gave her heart daily to the children she counseled. She also attended Brothers Keeper Church.

Survivors include her husband, Brian Hollers of Lufkin; mother and stepfather, Rita and Jerry Kromer of Huntington; stepson, Braiden Hollers of Lufkin; stepdaughter, Layal Hollers of The Woodlands; daughter by heart, Presley Spillers and her family of Clarksville, Tennessee; step-monster, Linda Thompson of Pearland; mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Pam and David McNeese of Lufkin; father-in-law, Ricky Hollers of Lufkin; stepsister and brother-in-law, Tiffany and Chris Travis of Pearland; stepsister, Katie Kromer of Austin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, April and Brant Lee of Pollok; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Landon and Kathy McNeese, Seth and Callie McNeese, all of Huntington; nieces and nephews, Sky Travis, Dalton Travis, both of Pearland, Breanne Cryer, Jasper McNeese, both of Huntington, Kinlee McNeese of Lufkin, Camryn Lee and Madison Lee, both of Pollok; aunt, Tammye Lynn Soderberg of Seabrook; as well as her two very best friends, Lisa Vinson and Angie Wagner.

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Don Thompson; sister, Micah Shea Thompson; stepbrother, Jace Cordell; grandparents, Damon and Addie Coleman, Earl and Margaret “Dude” Thompson; and aunt, Melba “Auntie” Tinsley.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Wagner, Terry Sitze, Shanin Vinson, Michael Modisette, Tyler Green, and Dr. Taylor McKewen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Colwell and Bradley Stringer.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Kyle Krohn and the staff at Woodland Heights Hospital for their care for Kresta.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Houston Office, 2400 Augusta Drive, Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
