Chad Jeremy Grimes

Funeral services for Chad Jeremy Grimes, 39, of Nacogdoches will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Vic Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches.

Chad was born July 25, 1977 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his residence. Formerly of Lufkin, he had resided in Nacogdoches for 10 years. Chad had been employed with B&J Excavating for more than 10 years. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp at the lake with his boys. Chad followed in the footsteps of his grandfather with a love of carpentry and being a handyman. He was always busy building, repairing and doing things for others.

Survivors include his sons, Cade Grimes and Cole Grimes, both of Nacogdoches; parents, Brenda and Jim Randall Bell and Johnny and Lasa Grimes, all of Pollok; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Craig Simmons of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Jim Ryan and DeLisa Bell of Pollok; stepsisters and brothers-in-law, Eleece and Ed Brunson of Nacogdoches and Monique and Rob Schill of Southlake; grandmother, Wilma Smith of Clawson; grandfather, Jim Gordon Bell of Pollok; parents-in-law, David and Faye Harvey of Nacogdoches; special family, Bobby, June and Clint Smith, all of Pollok; and numerous nieces, nephews, special cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Jurney-Grimes; grandparents, Robert “Buck” Smith, Elise Bell, and Delmar and Clarice Grimes; stepsister, Ericka Bogue; and aunt, Bonnie Bell Allen.

Pallbearers will be Billy Michael Smith, Michael Smith, Jim Randall Bell, Jim Ryan Bell, Charlie McLemore, and Bobby Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Michael McLin, Bobby Warner, Daniel Warner, Paul Smith, and Jason Warner.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
