Funeral services for Tommy Lynn Paulette, 67, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mardy Guidry and Dr. Mark Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Paulette was born July 14, 1949 in Converse, Louisiana to the late Estherlee (Jones) and Vandy Paulette, Jr., and died Friday, February 17, 2017 in a local hospital. Mr. Paulette had resided in Lufkin for most of his life and was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church. He coached Little League Baseball and loved hunting and fishing. For many years he owned and operated T&G, an archery store, in downtown Lufkin and was an archery instructor for the youth programs at Stephen F. Austin State University and the City of Lufkin. After more than 30 years he retired from Champion Paper Mill as a Boilerman. Tommy had a joke for every occasion. He touched many lives with his humor and outgoing personality, making friends with ease. Tommy enjoyed his days spent with his grandson, Parker, but most of all he had a never-ending love for his wife, Geri (his “main squeeze”), and all his family. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Geri Currie Paulette of Lufkin; sons, Tommy Paulette, Jr, Todd Paulette, Tracy Paulette, Jason Vandy Paulette and their families; daughter, Logan Paulette; grandson, Parker Paulette; special nephews, James “Bo” Paulette and Jason Currie; brothers, David Paulette and wife Micki, James Paulette and wife Pat, and Rodney Paulette and wife, Diane; sister, Tonya Paulette-Lowder and husband Jeff; aunt, Shirley Wood; mother-in-law, Bettie Harbuck; stepmother-in-law, Teresa Currie; brothers-in-law, Gary Currie and wife Kaye and Steve Currie and wife Nita; sister-in-law, Nicki Forrest and husband Stephen; numerous nieces, nephews; special mom, Joenette Whisenant; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon Kathleen Paulette McNeely; daughter-in-law, Amie Paulette; grandson, T. J. Paulette, III; and father-in-law, Ray Currie. Pallbearers will be Steve Currie, Gary Currie, Jason Currie, James “Bo” Paulette, Cody Drake, and Josh Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Alton Warner, J. D.
