Edward "Eddie" Landers

Funeral services for Edward “Eddie” Landers, 77, of Lufkin will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother D.R. McNaughton officiating. Interment will follow in the Newman Cemetery.

Mr. Landers was born March 24, 1939 in Brockwell, Arkansas to the late Vida (Jones) and James Woodrow Landers, and died Friday, February 10, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Landers resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was a crane operator for 40 years, working for Amcon Crane & Rigging and Phillips Crane & Rigging. Mr. Landers loved fishing. He was a member of Alco Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nadine Landers of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Charlotte Mettlen, Lynette and Jeffrey Stubblefield, and Becky Landers, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Scott Mettlen, Aaron Landers, Nathan Landers, Daniel Mettlen and wife Sarah, Samantha Stubblefield, Jessica Stubblefield, Brandon Stubblefield, and David Glawson; great-grandchildren, Colby Mettlen and Dillon Brown; sister and brother-in-law, Jimmie and Joe Thigpen of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norval and Gertrude Aldredge of Lufkin; special friend, Bobby Griffin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, James Landers and Dennis Landers; and sister, Barbara Womack.

Pallbearers will be Roy Henry, Brian Aldredge, Ricky Thigpen, Joe Mettlen, Michael Modisette, and Andrew Currie.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Griffin and Rocky Thigpen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904, or the Newman Cemetery Association, 443 Blackburn Switch Road, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
