Kenneth Marion Vickery, Sr.

Funeral services for Kenneth Vickery, Sr., 81, of Zavalla will be held Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Lanny Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.

Mr. Vickery was born September 14, 1935 in Branford, Florida to the late Grace Elizabeth (Strickland) and Curtis Cleveland Vickery, and died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Lufkin.

Mr. Vickery had resided in Zavalla for over 40 years. He was a heavy equipment operator and was employed by Owen’s Illinois Woodland. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved all animals. He liked all kinds of cars and heavy equipment. He loved to go to Canton Trade Days and he loved his church and his Bible. He was a faithful member of Zavalla Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Vickery of Zavalla; children, Connie Vickery, Bonnie Vickery, Debbie Vickery, Kenny Vickery, Jr., Vanessa Vickery, and Kelli Jones and husband, Ray; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Casey Henderson, Bubba McCarty, Delbert Jones, Michael Conner, Jr., Roy Kennedy, and James Henderson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Keith McClelland.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
