Barbara Long

Graveside services for Barbara Long, 90, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gann Cemetery with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating.

Mrs. Long was born October 28, 1926 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Edna (Denman) and Ellis Edwards, and died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in a local nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Central High School. Mrs. Long was a member of the Lufkin Garden Club, and First Baptist Church Lufkin.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen E. Long of Lufkin, Thomas C. and Anne Marie Long of Valparaiso, Indiana, and John M. and Tracy Long of Lewisville; grandchildren, Callie Long, Lauren Kirby and husband Kaydon, Raylan Long, and Austin Long; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny T. Long; and sister, Elise Bell.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday at Carroway Funeral Home.
