Juanita Yeates Sisk

Memorial services for Juanita Yeates Sisk, 86, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 607 Janeway, Lufkin, with Dr. Brian Wiggins officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home and private interment of cremains will be held in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

A longtime citizen of Lufkin, Mrs. Sisk was born March 27, 1930 in Huntington, Texas to the late Myrtle (McMullen) and Leon M. Yeates. She grew up with her twin brother and four sisters in Huntington, Texas. Mrs. Sisk passed away December 12, 2016 while under the care of PineCrest.

Mrs. Sisk was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, teaching Sunday school and participating in the Women’s Circle II.

Mrs. Sisk is survived by her sisters, Renee Hayes of Beaumont and Myriam Brown of Ridgeway, South Carolina; children, Janet Taylor and husband Joseph of Lufkin, Rozanne Oxford and husband Glen of Nashville and Robert E. Sisk, Jr. and wife Valerie of Warren; grandchildren, Matthew Taylor and wife Kristian of Lufkin, Beth Guinn and husband Wes of Richardson, Sarah Evans and husband Michael of Woodville, Catherine Currie and husband Keith of New Braunfels, and Emily Lewis and husband Tyler of Warren; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Ella Taylor, Caroline and Claire Guinn, Easton, Hudson and Carson Evans, Cooper and Hunter Lewis; and many loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Myrtle Yeates; husband, Robert E. Sisk; stepmother, Virginia Yeates; and siblings, Juan Yeates, Azelle Denum, Charlotte Slack and Rhozine Tucker.
