Jo Anne Luce

Jo Anne Luce, 69, of Hudson went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. Per Mrs. Luce’s wishes, there are no services planned.

Mrs. Luce was born March 30, 1947 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Pat (Wyatt) and M.L. Leonard. She had resided in Hudson since 1970 and retired from the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas. Mrs. Luce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Luce worked in children’s ministries her whole life. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Alvie “Al” Luce of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Brig and Veronica Luce of Lufkin; daughter, Leigh Anne Luce Yeates of Hudson; grandsons, Chase Luce and wife Lacey, Tre’ Luce, and Jack Yeates and wife Brandi, all of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Griffin Watts Luce, Emma Jane Luce, and Linley Anne Yeates, all of Lufkin; mother, Patricia Ruiz of California; sister, Scotty Lyles of California; brothers, Ron Leonard of Lufkin and Michael Leonard of Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, M.L. Leonard; grandparents, Mama Dell and Daddy Rich; brother, Dwight Leonard; and parents-in-law, PaPaw and MaMaw Luce.

The family extends thanks to Mrs. Luce’s special caregivers, Alyssa, Amber, Brittany, Chelsea, Chloe, Dawn, and Kellie, and to the staff of Hospice in the Pines for their loving care over the past several years.
