Martha Lou Ferguson

Funeral services for Martha Lou Russworm Ferguson, 78, of Zavalla will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Greg King officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairland Cemetery in the Fairland Community in Burnet County.

Mrs. Ferguson was born October 8, 1938, to the late Rose L. (Smith) and Earl Russworm, and died Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Houston.

Mrs. Ferguson had resided in Zavalla for the past 15 years and prior to that she resided in Anahuac. She retired from the United States Postal Service as the Postmaster in Anahuac. She loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mrs. Ferguson loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren, and people called her “Granny”. She was a member of Huntington Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Riley Ferguson, Jr. of Zavalla; daughters, Lou Ann Lamb of Anahuac, Ruth Baker and husband Gene of Montgomery, and Laura Witcher of Anahuac; grandchildren and their spouses, Quade Lamb, Clayton Lamb, Blake and Lisa Baker, Lacey and Sam Laird, Taryn Baker, and Jonah Witcher; great-grandchildren, Jett Laird, Emma Baker, Jase Laird, and Adilynn Laird; brother and sister-in-law, James Alvin and Norma Russworm of Burnet; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gene Baker, Blake Baker, Sam Laird, Quade Lamb, Clayton Lamb, and Jonah Witcher.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the funeral home.
