Graveside services for Charles H. Ford, Sr., 83, of Huntington will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Corinth Cemetery in San Augustine with Reverend Ford Adkins officiating.
Mr. Ford was born October 26, 1933 in San Augustine County, Texas, to Fannie (Marshall) and C. A. Ford, Sr., and died Monday, January 9, 2017 in Lufkin.
Mr. Ford had resided in Huntington for the past 33 years. He loved to trail ride and he loved horses. He was an Honorary Trail Boss for Old Spanish Trail Ride. He loved to be at least an hour early for every event he attended. Mr. Ford loved his grandchildren and taught his granddaughters to ride and do play days. He also loved to hunt. He attended Cross Timbers Cowboy Church.
Survivors include his sons, Wayne Ford and wife Brenda of Huntington, and Charles H. Ford, Jr. and special friend Sharon of Rayburn Country; grandchildren, Robert Ford, Crystal Berry, Tamara Hooks, and Jessica Hudnall; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Martha Merritt of Jasper; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Shawn Michael Ford.
Honorary Pallbearers are Orville McMullen, Robert Grimes, Carson Hooks, and Bo Madden.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
