Funeral services for William Prentis Foster, Jr., 71, of Huntington, will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Bro. Trey Ainsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.
Mr. Foster was born May 30, 1945 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Alma Jack (Collins) and William Prentis Foster, Sr. He died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in a Mansfield, Texas hospital.
Mr. Foster had resided in Huntington since 2005. He had worked as a painter for American Wall Covering in Dallas for 18 years. He was a very humble man, known for always being willing to help out and do anything for people. He had played the guitar in many bands throughout the years and knew a lot of famous singers. Mr. Foster enjoyed riding horses, grilling, and recalling stories about his life. He considered himself a very blessed man, and dearly loved his two daughters and grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Foster of Arlington and Jacquelyn Foster of Joshua; grandchildren, Justice Turner of Arlington, David Evans of Joshua; and great granddaughter, Jordynn Turner of Arlington. He is also survived by Debbie Hart of Fort Worth.
He was preceded in death by his father, a former Huntington police officer; his mother; and his stepfather, Elmer Lee Gesford.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
