Darrell W. Lawson

Funeral services for Darrell W. Lawson, 54, of Zavalla will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Dr. Mike Lawson and Reverend Harold Sloan officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery.

Mr. Lawson was born January 4, 1963 in Lufkin, Texas and died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Lufkin.

Mr. Lawson was a lifetime resident of Zavalla. He was self-employed as an Auctioneer. He was an avid outdoorsman and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his parents, Lurlean and Louie Lawson of Zavalla; sisters, Lesia and husband Kelvin Jones of Huntington, and Angie Murphy of Zavalla; nephews and nieces, Justin Jones, Chelsea Jones, Megan Fridell, and Tyler Fridell; great-nephew, Mason Jones; great-niece, Memphis Grace Jones; best friend, Jess Williams of Zavalla, and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud and Novice Shoemaker, and Lewis and Ollie Lawson; and brother-in-law, Tony Fridell.

Pallbearers will be Jess Williams, Joe Bridges, Dwayne Havard, Charles Rawls, Mark Pate, and David McCarty.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
