Charles Ray "Chuck" Cunningham

Funeral services for Charles Ray “Chuck” Cunningham, 59, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Mr. Cunningham was born August 11, 1957 in Navarro County, Texas to Gwendolyn (Seaman) and Cecil Ray Cunningham. He went to be with his Lord Tuesday, January 3, 2017 after a struggle with cancer.

Mr. Cunningham served in the U.S. Army from 1979 until 1980 and in the Reserves for four more years. He was a tankerman for Capital Inland Towing for many years, and worked as a diesel technician for 20 years. He was a member of Promise Church in Lufkin. Mr. Cunningham loved singing for the Lord, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Vickie Jo (DuBose) Cunningham of Lufkin; sons, Charles Ray Cunningham, Jr. of Rogers, Arkansas; Bradley Cunningham and wife Kansas of Huntington; daughter, Samantha Seale and husband Kirk of Etoile; grandchildren, Jonathon, Mason, Cooper, Kayleigh, Aaric Mathew, Carson, and Kole; mother, Gwendolyn Cunningham of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brothers, Jeff Cunningham and wife Liz, Joel Cunningham, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Tom Jacobs of Mississippi, David Adams of Lufkin, and Willie Jacobs of Henderson; sister, Cheryl Cryer of Oregon; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Cunningham; and sister, Mary Tolbert.

Pallbearers will be A.J. Bennefield, Chuck Cunningham, Gary Wayne Seaman, Tony Parks, Westley Parks, and David Rodriguez.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
