Claude Edgar Sherrard

Funeral services for Claude Edgar Sherrard, 83, of Pollok will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Elton Musick and Pastor Ron Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Pollok Cemetery.

Mr. Sherrard was born July 5, 1933 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Arbie Beatrice (Goodwin) and Edgar Sherrard, and died Monday, January 2, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Sherrard resided in Pollok most of his life. After high school, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in Houston as an electrician for IBEW Local Union 716, retiring after serving 27 years. Mr. Sherrard was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rose Sherrard of Pollok; daughter, Tricia Chambers of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cindy Sherrard of Lufkin and Robert and Lisa Sherrard of Pollok; grandchildren and spouses, Patrick Chambers, Kyle Chambers, Dustin Sherrard and Brandy Smith, Amber and Faustino Salaiz III, Robyn and Doug Kishbaugh; step-grandchildren and spouses, Lauren and Chad Hooper, Kara and Caleb Due; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and grandsons, Bradley Sherrard and Taylor Chambers.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Chambers, Kyle Chambers, Dustin Sherrard, Faustino Salaiz III, Chad Hooper, and Caleb Due.

Memorial contributions may be made to Denman Avenue Baptist Church, 1807 E. Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901, or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Grace Baptist Church.
