Marie Denney Belk

Funeral services for Marie Denney Belk, 84, of Huntington will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Huntington First Baptist Church with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Cushing Cemetery in Cushing.

Mrs. Belk was born September 9, 1932 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Iva (Whitaker) and Arthur Denney, and died Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Spring.

Mrs. Belk had resided in Huntington for more than 60 years and was a retired teacher from Huntington ISD. She was passionate about teaching kids, her family, and church. Mrs. Belk was a member of Huntington First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Kim Belk of The Woodlands; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Bob Fredericks of Cushing; grandchildren, Marshall Belk, Macy Belk, Marley Belk, Blake Wilcox and wife Emily, Ryan Wilcox and wife Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Jake Wilcox, Briley Wilcox, and Troy Wilcox; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Joe W. Belk; brother, John Arthur Denney; and sister, Eileen Denney.

Pallbearers will be Dan Townsend, Brian Belk, Tim Denney, Matt Woodfill, Jared Woodfill, and Kerwin Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Gresham, Jerry Woodfill, and Jeff Hanchey.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home in Huntington.
