Anita Hodges

Funeral services for Anita Hodges, 93, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Runnels officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Mrs. Hodges was born October 13, 1923 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Hattie (Haley) and William Franklin Ray, and died Saturday, December 17, 2016 in a local nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. Mrs. Hodges was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Donald Ray Hodges of Lufkin, Sheila Shinn and husband Stephen of Nacogdoches, Mike Hodges, and Claire Hodges, both of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jeremy Shinn and wife Andrea, Stephanie Reeves and husband Ty, Melissa Marceaux and husband Zach, Amy Kelley and husband Jeff, Windham Hodges, and Forrest Hodges; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Rine of Longview; and niece, Cheryl Stephenson and husband Ron of Kilgore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Hodges; and five siblings.

Pallbearers will be Windham Hodges, Forrest Hodges, Zack Marceaux, Colton Kimbrough, Steve Gann, Andrew Craig, and Jeremy Shinn.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
