James Renalder Hopson

Funeral services for James Renalder Hopson, 84, of Zavalla will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Concord Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Link Ham officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery.

Mr. Hopson was born May 7, 1932 in Nacogdoches County, Texas the son of the late Ina Mae (Landrum) and Hutch Joel Hopson. He passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Hopson served in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver for 40 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Hopson was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Hopson of Zavalla; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Barbra Hopson and Mark and Deana Hopson, all of Zavalla; stepson, Ricky Roach of Henderson; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Felix and Aline Hopson of Zavalla and Charles and Beverly Hopson of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Paul Sepulvador of Zavalla; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin James Hopson July 15, 1979; and sister, Ruth McInnis.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the services.
