Norberto "Bert" Jacildo

A Memorial Mass for Norberto “Bert” Jacildo, 65, of League City will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Kannampuzha officiating.

Mr. Jacildo was born January 15, 1952 in Iloilo, Philippines to Vicente and Lavina Jacildo. He passed peacefully from this world to his Heavenly home Monday, December 5, 2016 with his family at his side in League City.

Mr. Jacildo attended high school in De Paul College, Iloilo City and pursued a degree in Accounting at the University of Mindanao, Philippines. In 1975, while working as a medical sales representative at Metro Drug Corporation in Davao City, Philippines, he met his wife, Esmeralda Panuda Jacildo. They married the following year. While in the Philippines, he and his wife ran a family business. He immigrated with his wife to the United States in September 2014. His main aspiration was to be a United States citizen. He started working at Kroger in 2015. Mr. Jacildo enjoyed his work and his life in the U.S.

His passion was in martial arts, tennis and singing. In his early adulthood, he competed in martial arts and won several tournaments. He then turned his passion to tennis and was an excellent player. Mr. Jacildo was the greatest influence in his children’s passion for tennis and singing. He had a beautiful voice and shared his talent by participating in the church choir and also led as a psalmist singer.

Bert was a devoted family man who loved his wife and adored his four children, Marie Vic, Sheila Marie, Paul Vincent, and Lavina Melody, and three grandchildren, Amber, Reile and Kheila “Twirly”. He was patient, kind, compassionate, giving and good natured, with a great sense of humor. He was a devout Catholic and a servant leader who always knew how to make people smile and feel whole. While in the Philippines, Bert and Esmie attended Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bangkal, Davao City. He was an active servant of the church and served in the choir and ministry. He enjoyed helping others and gave comfort to those in need. His personality, beautiful smile and good sense of humor will always be remembered. During his last few weeks, he made us laugh, taught us the importance of church, family, balance in life and above all, Love.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Esmeralda Panuda Jacildo of League City; children, Marie Vic Feliciano and husband Leonardo of League City, Sheila Marie Jacildo of Iloilo City, Philippines, Paul Vincent Jacildo of Davao City, Philippines, and Lavina Melody Jacildo of Davao City, Philippines; grandchildren, Amber Feliciano, Reile Feliciano and Kheila Xienelle; siblings, Janet Jacildo Knox, Melvin Jacildo, Hernani Jacildo, Rodel Jacildo, Eduardo Jacildo, and Ruby Jacildo; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vicente Jacildo, Sr.; mother, Lavina Tambanillo Jacildo; and brother, Vicente Jacildo, Jr.
