Alma Golden

Mass of Christian Burial for Alma Golden, 83, of Corpus Christi will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Kannampuzha and Deacon Larry Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church, with Rosary recited at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs. Golden was born March 7, 1933, the twelfth and last child born to C.D. and Pearl (Harkins) New of Mississippi. She was born in Haworth, Oklahoma where her parents had moved to own and operate a farm. Mrs. Golden died Friday, December 2, 2016 in Corpus Christi.

Mrs. Golden married Trayton Cornelius Golden, Jr. July 8, 1969 in San Augustine, and they soon moved to Huntington. She was employed with Brookshire Brothers for 30 years. Mrs. Golden was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Corpus Christi.

Survivors include her stepson, J. Trayton Golden and wife JoAnn; stepdaughters, Patricia Fay (Golden) Doud and husband Manuel, and Judy Eileen (Golden) Muzyczyn and husband Michael; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; all 11 siblings; husband, Trayton Cornelius Golden, Jr.; and stepdaughter, Joy Lee (Golden) Dowd.
