On September 20, 2016 John Marvin Cely II departed this world embraced by angels into God’s care. John was a blessing when born on May 25, 1982 in Lufkin, to Sherri Dawson Cely and the late John Marvin Cely, former attorney. He was raised in Lufkin where he lived most of his life. John loved his family and fur babies dearly. John had many accomplishments in his life. He gave a concert singing country and western tunes to a sell-out auditorium at Hudson High School where he attended, giving the proceeds to the school. He was a curator at Sculptors by Design in Houston, an assistant manager at Coach and Eddie Bauer. His greatest accomplishment in life was his ability to care so much for people in need of help. He never met a stranger and his smile would light up any room. He will be greatly and eternally missed. Survivors include his mother, Sherri Dawson Cely of Lufkin; his fur baby daughters, Dottie and Honeybelle of Galveston; sisters and brother-in-law, Rebecca Cely Martinez and Carlos Martinez of Austin and Tiffani M. Sims of Lufkin; brothers, John Mark Cely of Austin and Jeremy Dawson Faircloth of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Matthew Roberts, Hunter Roberts, John Mark Cely, Jr., Jacob Cely Meyer, Walker Cely Meyer, Jenna Elizabeth Cely, Shelby Lynn Faircloth, and Pia Lena Cely Martinez; aunt and uncles, Jan Bezanson Campbell and Paul Campbell of Houston, Frank Marshall of Corrigan; cousins, Johnna and Darrell Gibson of Corrigan, Derek and Robin Lowe of Diboll; second cousins, Kortney McMullen, Jimmy Kee and wife, Brittany, Jonathon Lowe, Jay Dawson Lowe, and Max Willson; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Marvin Cely; grandparents, Ruth and Dave Cely, Miriam and Bill Dawson; aunt, Debbie Dawson Marshall. Special thanks and appreciation to Eric, Steve, and Gary Bolt, Eddie Peters and Gary Clunch.
