Graveside services for Glenda Louise Brashear, 63, of Lufkin will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Brandon Brashear officiating.
Ms. Brashear was born November 21, 1952 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Sally Louise (Griggs) and Gordon Glenn “Tip” Brashear, and died Friday, November 18, 2016 in a local hospice facility with family by her side.
Ms. Brashear was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, with more than 20 of those years at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. Ms. Brashear was a beloved Nana to all the children in her family. She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed painting and crafting. Ms. Brashear was of the Baptist faith.
The family would like to acknowledge that Nana was always there to help care for the family in times of need, often spending day and night with them when hospitalized. She was the Mother Hen of the family.
Survivors include her sister, Kelley Foley of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randal Brashear of Diboll, Martin and René Brashear, Robert “Chip” and Danelle Brashear, all of Huntington, and Michael Kevin and Nita Brashear of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Robin Brashear, Shoel Brashear, Tiffanie Villasana and husband Tony, Melanie Brashear, Brandon Brashear, Emily Brashear, Daniel Brashear, Mackenzie Foley, and Lexie Foley; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Preston Villasana, Hadley Villasana, Shada Brashear, Layton Brashear, and River Knight.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Melissa Brashear; special friend, Dan Weaver; and nephew-in-law, Michael Knight.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Brashear, Martin Brashear, Chip Brashear, Shoel Brashear, Brandon Brashear, and Daniel Brashear.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randal Brashear and Tony Villasana.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
