Pat Stevens

Funeral services for Pat Stevens, 67, of Lufkin will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Van Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery. Mrs. Stevens was born October 30, 1949 in Lufkin, Texas to Mary Ann (Johnson) and Fred Lee “Buster” Nicholas, and died Thursday, November 17, 2016 in a local hospice facility. Mrs. Stevens was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. She was a hairstylist for 20 years and had been a substitute teacher for Lufkin ISD for 14 years. Mrs. Stevens was an avid golfer and a member of the Lufkin Country Club, Ladies Golf Association, and the Circle Club. She was a member of Herty Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Nancy Stevens of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Daymon Gilbert of Kingwood; grandchildren, Kaitlin Gilbert and Noah Gilbert, both of Kingwood, Britt Stevens and Briley Stevens, both of Lufkin; mother, Mary Ann Nicholas of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Linda Nicholas of Lufkin, Terry and Lynn Nicholas of Houston; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. “Steve” Stevens, Jr.; father, Fred “Buster” Nicholas; and parents-in-law, Peck and Jewel Stevens. Pallbearers will be David Fain, Paul Britt, Clint Reed, Zane Odom, Kenny Nicholas, Kevin Boudreaux, Cody Odom, and Dale Childress. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Nicholas, Terry Nicholas, Duane Seay, Johnny Glenn Johnson, Charles Ray Johnson, Mitch Davis, and Doug Davis. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904, Herty Baptist Church, 2914 Atkinson Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901, or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
