Funeral services for Reida Bergman Davis, 53, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Denman Avenue Baptist Church with Brother Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Davis was born August 23, 1963 in Houston, Texas to the late Virginia (Pruett) and William Bergman, and died Friday, November 11, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Davis had resided in Lufkin for almost 30 years. She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for others. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts. She was a volunteer for Most Excellent Way and participated and also directed the Girls’ Camp at Pineywoods for many years. She looked forward to her many camping trips she shared with her husband. She was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Davis of Lufkin; daughters, Valorie Davis of Austin, Virginia Davis of Destin, Florida; son, Charles Davis of Lufkin; brothers Bill Bergman of Livingston and Doug Bergman of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lovinia Lee.
Pallbearers will be Don Hannabas, Jerry Chalker, Dan Conley, Alan Wade, Bobby Spells, and Richard Kenley.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lufkin Fire Department.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
