Marilyn Ann Cook

Graveside services for Marilyn Ann Cook, 78, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Old Union Cemetery with Brother Mardy Guidry officiating.

Ms. Cook was born July 27, 1938 in Lufkin, Texas, and passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 in a local nursing facility. She was a lifelong resident of Lufkin.

Marilyn was a dedicated Christian woman with such a strong faith in God. She became totally dependent on Him through her long extended illness. She loved studying and teaching God’s Word and her knowledge of the Bible was evident in her teachings. Marilyn taught Sunday school for many years at Southside Baptist Church and also taught a ladies’ home Bible Study group, and many seminars. She recently became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by remaining family members and a host of dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Montie and LaVaughn Cook.
