Myrtle Eileen (Knight) Mcknight

July 11, 1927 — November 1, 2016

Funeral services for Myrtle Eileen (Knight) McKnight, 89, of Flint, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Sunday November 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Jonathan White, officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. McKnight was born July 11, 1927 in Lower Newport, Ohio to the late Nellie Edith (Fortney) and Royal Benjamin Knight, and died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. McKnight had resided in Flint for two years. She was an administrator for the Civil Service for more than 33 years, and retired from Angelina College following 16 years of employment as secretary to one of the Deans. Mrs. McKnight had been a member of Angelina Church of Christ for six years, and volunteered as the Church Secretary. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Connie Ford and Patricia Ann and Charles White, all of Flint; stepson and daughter-in-law, Thayne and Joan McKnight of Centennial, Colorado; grandsons, Mick Perkins of Midland, Paul White and wife Jennifer of Tyler, Jonathan White and wife Becca of Mineola, Florida, Todd McKnight and wife Kelli of Pittsburg, Kansas, Trent McKnight and wife Brooke of Port Townsend, Washington, and Troy McKnight and wife Lindsey of Benbrook; granddaughters, Holly Eileen Sage of Manville, and Deanna Keese and husband Scott of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; great-grandsons, Joey Fonfara, Stacy White, Trooper White, Lucas Keese, Noah Keese, Trace McKnight, and Cason McKnight; great-granddaughters, Lennon Perkins, Skylar White, Scarlett White, Caitlin McKnight, Caroline McKnight, Satria McKnight, Jasmine McKnight, Ella McKnight, and Everly McKnight; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Dean Simpson of Ohio; sister-in-law, Marie Smith of Galax, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stacy McKnight; son-in-law, Dan Ford; five brothers; and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Angelina Church of Christ or the India Evangelism through the church, P.O. Box 153238, Lufkin, Texas 75915. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
