Funeral services for Juanita Hernandez Acosta, 56, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe G. Saenz officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery. Mrs. Hernandez was born July 2, 1960 in Allende, Mexico to the late Maria Acosta Montoya and Antonio Hernandez Duran. She died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Lufkin from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Hernandez had been employed as a production employee for Pilgrim’s Pride for 20 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved helping people, taking care of her family, and tending to her plants. Mrs. Hernandez attended Emanuel Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, Armando Zamora of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Hernandez and Jose Antonio Aldape, Lisbeth Hernandez Carreon and Jaime Carreon, all of Lufkin, Kennia Dariela Hernandez De Casas and Pedro Casas of Poteet, Texas, and Rosa Escalera and Miguel Escalera of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, Jesus Hernandez, Jr. of Lufkin, Yully Hernandez and Brandy Reynolds of Milam; twenty grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; father of her children, Jesus Hernandez, Sr. of Pineland; three step-children; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Derren Uriel Del Toro and Xzavier Alexander Hernandez. Pallbearers will be members of her family. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
