Gary Richard "Ricky" Baker, Jr.

Funeral services for Gary Richard “Ricky” Baker, Jr., 55, of Houston, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Reed officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Ricky was born November 12, 1960 in Lufkin, Texas to Delilah Ruth (Wright) and the late Gary R. Baker, Sr., and died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 in Spring, Texas.
Ricky had resided in Houston for more than ten years. He graduated from Cy-Fair High School. While living in Lufkin he was employed at Lufkin Industries, then worked for various commercial construction companies in Houston. He enjoyed nature, hunting, and being in the outdoors. Ricky was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Lea Baker of Mesa, Arizona, Jami Lyn Rethurford of Denver, Colorado, and Kaitlyn Lee Baker of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tag, Triton and River Rethurford, Knox and Indy Zaputil; mother, Delilah Wright Birmingham of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanne and Pat Clarson and Leigh Anne and David Ahr, all of Houston; half-brothers, John Baker and Bob Baker, both of Wyoming; nephew, James Clarson of Houston; and a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Gary R. Baker, Sr.; and grandparents, Jesse and Erma Lee Baker and George W. and Esther Wright.
Pallbearers will be Kel Carroll, Jeff Baker, Hank Waggoner, Cliff Davis, James Clarson and Robert Poskey.
Honorary pallbearer will be Josh Baker.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
