Dorothy Lucille Case Oliver

Funeral services for Dorothy Lucille Case Oliver, 86, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, October 24, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Burl McBride, III. officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Center Cemetery. Mrs. Oliver was born March 5, 1930 in Nacogdoches, Texas, to the late Pinkney Taylor Case and Mattie Lollar Case. She left her earthly home to join her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 21, 2016. Lucille was married to Womack “Punk” Oliver on January 19, 1952. They were married for 63 years. Lucille was a homemaker and loved to cook big meals for her family and have fish fries. She always wanted everyone to eat and then wanted everyone to take food home with them! She was an avid quilter, having made many treasures for her kids and grandbabies. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. She was affectionately called Maw Maw, and she loved and cherished her grandbabies and great grandbabies. Lucille was a member of the Pine Forest Baptist Church in Huntington for many years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Punk Oliver; daughter, Martha L. Powers; son and daughter-in-law, Billy W. and Malinda “Minna” Oliver; grandbabies Adrian Powers Fountain and husband Kyle Fountain, Jordan W. Oliver, Aaron T. Oliver and fiance’ Ashley Treadway; great grandbabies, Graci Fountain, Maddisyn Fountain, Kullen Fountain, Bri’ Fountain, Quentin, Minnie and Kyllie Walker; and loving friends, Chelmar and Danny Read. She is also survived by a sister, Eula Fay Lambright of Angleton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Nell Cotton, Francine Gordin, Imogene Parker, Paul T. Case, Sr., Silas Case, Floy Case, Obilee Lollar and Truman Case. Pallbearers will be Jordan W. Oliver, Aaron T. Oliver, Kyle E. Fountain, Kullen E. Fountain, Quentin E. Walker, Paul T. Case, Jr., and John T. Oliver. Our family would like to thank Chelmar Read for all the love, care and support she has given. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
