Graveside services for Anna Stone Heath, 96, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches with Brother Elton Foster officiating.
Mrs. Heath was born May 3, 1920 in Franklin, New Jersey to the late William and Anna (Pasuta) Stone, and died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Heath had worked as a caregiver at CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial and the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. She loved knitting, crocheting, walking, and gardening, and volunteering was very big in her life. Mrs. Heath was an honorary member of the Lufkin VFW Post 1836, and a member of Homer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon VanSlooten of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Donna VanSlooten of Lufkin; grandsons, Sundance Gauthier of Lufkin and Patrick Nestoly of Norman, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Melissa Wrex of Deland, Florida, and Karen Adamson of Reno, Nevada; great-granddaughter, Anna Page Gauthier of Lufkin; sister, Helen Britton of Port Jervis, New York; sister-in-law, Lucille Lawrence of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis W. Heath in 2013; sons, William VanSlooten and Henry VanSlooten, Jr.; grandson, Christopher Nestoly; twin sister, Theresa Scanko; and brothers, John Stone and Steven Stone.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday at Carroway Funeral Home.
