Gary Dean Courtney

Funeral services for Gary Dean Courtney, 76, of Burke, will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Jones officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Courtney was born August 4, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Luther and Thelma Courtney. He passed away and was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, October 10, 2016.

Gary had many hobbies that he was passionate about. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved the outdoors. In addition, Gary enjoyed painting and playing the guitar.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Denise Baggett and husband David of Houston; two grandchildren, Evan Olsen and Courtney Baggett; his siblings, Doris Courtney and Lila Faye Courtney; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Luther and Thelma Courtney, and his brother Wayne.

We celebrate his life and his unconditional love and kindness.
