Tommie Ray Butler

Memorial graveside services for Tommie Ray Butler, 70, of Hudson will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Largent Cemetery with Brother Elton Musick officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Butler was born March 11, 1946 in Wells, Texas to the late G.L. Butler and Daisy Belle (Williams) Butler, and died Thursday, October 6, 2016 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Butler liked gardening and cooking. He particularly enjoyed building things, from crafts to keepsakes, or anything someone needed, and family.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Lynda Sue Butler of Hudson; daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Tim Taylor and Glenda Johnson, all of Hudson; grandchildren and spouses, Tommy and Brittany Taylor of Livingston, Casey and Justin Thomas of Lufkin, Zach and Morgan Taylor of Groveton, Brody Butler, Sarah Johnson, and Samantha Johnson, all of Hudson; great-grandchildren, Riley Taylor, Kenzley Taylor, both of Livingston, Jace Taylor, Olivia Taylor, both of Groveton; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Sherry Butler of Pollok; sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle Sue (Susie) and Perry Goodin of Pollok; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Mayberry; grandson, Clinton Hill; brothers, James Glen Butler and Truman Butler; and the mother of his children, Brenda Butler McLaughlin.

Grandsons and Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
