Mildred Margueriette Kessinger

Funeral services for Mildred Margueritte Kessinger, 92, of Diboll will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Roy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.       Mrs. Kessinger was born July 17, 1924 in Diboll, Texas to the late Bessie Elizabeth (Parten) and Albert Clinton Hales, and died Friday, October 7, 2016 in a local nursing home.       Mrs. Kessinger resided in Diboll most of her life. She was a homemaker, and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Mrs. Kessinger was a lifetime member of the Lufkin VFW Auxiliary Post #1836, and a member of the Ike Turner Chapter #1569 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in Livingston.       Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Teresa Kessinger, Donnie and Cathy Kessinger, all of Diboll, and Albert and Cathy Kessinger of Knoxville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and David McCall of Orangeburg, South Carolina; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.       She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Clinton Hales; mother, Bessie Elizabeth (Parten) Hales Owens; husband of 71 years 9 months, Ellis Junior Kessinger; son, James Ellis Kessinger; daughter, Joyce Crager; great-granddaughter, Emma D. Weeks; sisters, Alice Karnes and Lois Hurd; and brothers, Hersey Hales and Freddie Lee Owens.       Pallbearers will be Dewey Lee Crager, Anthony Kessinger, Erick Weeks, Kevin Moore, Jeff Stewart, and J.C. Kessinger.       Honorary pallbearers will be Dewey Karnes and David McCall.       The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.       Memories and condolences may be added, and live webcasting of the services may be viewed at www.carrowayfuneralhome.com.             Carroway Funeral Home, Lufkin, directors.
