Carolyn Reeves Gill

Memorial services for Carolyn Reeves Gill, 86, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cindy Doran officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reeves, also known as “Wana” and “Cacky,” was born in Jacksonville, Texas on November 25, 1929, and died Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Lufkin.

Carolyn was a realtor in Lufkin for more than 30 years. She loved to read, and was a master shoe shopper! Her happiest times were spent surrounded by her family and friends. She was a member of Keltys United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Leshia Reid; daughter-in-law, Debbie Reid; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Gage; stepdaughter, Debra Rhoden; stepson, John Reeves; brother and sister-in-law, James and Jackie Stevens; grandchildren, Steven Reid, Stacy Dicks, Nicole Thurston, Amanda Martinez, and Jonathan Reid; numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren; and special friends, Louise Wideman, Patty Troudt, and Ann May. She is also survived by the family of Ray Gill, and special friend and father of her children, Lowell Reid.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Stevens; mother, Ima Chadwick Stevens; husbands, JD Reeves and Ray Gill; son, Mike Reid; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Wanda Stevens, E.O. and Matalee Stevens; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Tom Anderson; sister-in-law, Shirley Stevens; stepsons, James Reeves and Keith Gill; and her beloved dog, Katy.

The family will receive friends before the memorial service from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
