Billy (Bill) C. Sharp

Graveside services for Billy (Bill) C. Sharp, 67, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Pastor Leymoin Wiggins officiating and military honors by the United States Army.

Mr. Sharp was born June 26, 1949, in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Elenor Evon (Boaz) and Phillip Turner Sharp, Jr. He died Sunday, October 2, 2016 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Sharp had lived in Lufkin all his life. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mr. Sharp had been employed with Louisiana-Pacific for 32 years. He was a master wood worker and could fix anything. Mr. Sharp was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Sharp of Lufkin; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Sharp, Teresa and Beamon Snider, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Shadow Davison, Krysta Williams, Kaylee Snider, and Maddox Snider; mother, Georgia Sharp of Huntington; brothers and sisters and their spouses, James and Pam Sharp, Patricia (Sis) and Randy Whittington, all of Lufkin, Elaine and Don Willis of Huntington, Philip Ray Sharp, and Marion and Doug Standley, all of Lufkin; stepbrothers, Gordon Russell of Beaumont, James Russell of Kountze, Curtis Russell of Pineland; stepsister, Joanne Van Brocklow of Lumberton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Lance Sharp; stepbrother, John David Russell; and nephew, Zachary Sharp.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Standley, Randy Whittington, Beamon Snider, Don Willis, Shane Wiggins, and Ricky Clark.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at Whitehouse Cemetery before the service.
